Bullying
Bullying happens all around the world and it needs to be stopped. Bullying isn't just physical but it also can be done mentally and over the computer. Computer bullying is called cyber bullying when people write really hurtful words over the internet and that can really get to someone. Physical bullying is when someone is beat up all the time. And mental bullying is when everything builds up over the bullying years and it effects you because you know you can't go on because you have been bullied so much.
These are some of the ways to get over bullying. One, talk to someone and let them help you. Two, stand up for yourself and prove to everyone that ever said anything about you, wrong. Three, think better of yourself and don't let anyone hurt or bully you. Use these steps and you will be happier. Don't let your bullying get too severe, otherwise there will be no way to stop it.
Remember, you are not alone so think of the others around the world. Maybe you could create a 'stop bullying' group with people that have been bullied before.
Thanks.

Rumaysa, I hope you don't mind but I published this piece from your independent writing book. I thought it was so powerful that it just had to be shared with a wider audience. We so often talk about bullying and it effects but what makes your writing unique is that you have thought of possible solutions to try. You have shown great depth of understanding on the topic, but also a huge degree of compassion for those around you. Great level 5 thinking!

Great stuff Rumaysa - good advice for those affected by bullying. I like your idea about creating a support group. Bullies often team up with other bullies, so standing together with other people who have been bullied, and with those who may not have been bullied but are strongly against it, would be an empowering thing to do. There's nothing like a bit of solidarity to build confidence!

Thank you so much for you comment Shelley. I will make sure Rumaysa sees it. It is great to get some adult perspectives on this topic.
