Flora

Colourful,bursting,blooming;

Wonderful green string with a red tint.

They come in all shapes and sizes, Itsy-bitsy, monstrous, blue, purple.

Flora may be described as the force that keeps our blood flowing, hearts pumping.

But after a rough month or two, the plant has had its life.

Icky,rotten,saggy.

Cross country by Joshua R

The almost vertical hill lay before me. My feet smashed the ground like I'd just fallen of a cliff. I was going at the speed of my dad late for work. My body was filled with up with exhaustion for I felt like I was going to fall face first on the hard concrete. My only fuel was my supporters and my determination to come sixth place. I felt like I was turning into jelly. My mouth felt like a dentist was sucking all the water out of my mouth. My heart was a hammer inside my chest. Someone was screaming at the top of their lungs at me until I resized it was just my ears. The gully came to a sharp corner as I turned I heard the crowd roar.

Lighting! By Mitchell

I was sitting at my desk looking out the window at the rain. RRRRRUUUUUMMMMMBBBBBLLLLEEEE I heard thunder rumble and saw lightning crack VVVZZZTTT, all of a sudden darkness surrounded me the lights were off! I stumbled toward the door and tripped over our cat moochy, nneeooww moochy swiped her claw it caught my arm and went all the way down to my hand. Yeowch I yelled yanking my hand away, big mistake her claw went down from the top of my hand to the tip of my finger. Silly cat I muttered under my breath as I crawled down the hallway clutching my arm Mitchell Mitchell I hear my parents voices from further down the hallway I follow the sound and find them in their room. Lets get out of here the rain has stopped and the powers been cut then they noticed the gash down my arm how did that happen they ask? That's along story I say.

SPCA

SPCA is a animal hospital when they bring in and take care of any animal which have injuries so that is why you yes you should support SPCA .I am.

The SPCA cares for wild animals until they are ready to be set free to the wild, in that time they do health checks and make the animals at home. But for injured domestic animals they give them treatment, food and shelter until they get adopted by a kind family.

The way Me and a friend are helping is by doing a bake sale, the things

Crocodile

His green eyes shine out. He drags his scaly snakelike body slowly across the ground. He has super sharp teeth. He has no teeth. I wonder if he bit it off?

Wind by Logan

The wind is a school bully, bending trees in agony.
It is a lasso, whipping around my head, ready to strike.
It beckons me to stay, telling me not to go.
It kidnaps the leaves, and takes hem on a tour of the world.
My heart sinks as the clouds stroll away, and the wind takes the stage.

Crocidle description by Logan

It's rock hard scales makes him a unbeatable opponent. His hypnotic gaze makes you never want to leave. His color of skin makes him camouflage into his surroundings. It's teeth can shred every last speck of meat from your bones with ease. His massive legs can pounce on you, before you can call for help.

I'm gonna eat you!!! By Mitchell

He stares at me with piercing green eyes .
His sharp dagger-like teeth hungry in their blood lust.
A snake-like body writhes around its tail twitching.
His unbreakable gaze gives me the creeps.
People say he is a smiling croc but I just think he's going to eat me.

Cross country! By Mitchell

I was coming around the corner legs flying arms pumping keeping a steady rhythm. Through sweat filled eyes I could see cole he was just a few metres ahead of me. With the immense cheering pushing me on I kept running keeping as steady a pace as ever. The exhilaration caused me to remember I was coming third!. The adrenaline rush fuelling, I fought harder than ever to stop Flynn from passing me. Flynn was right on my shoulder!. My face flushed red in all my thinking I had almost let him pass me. Determined to not let it happen again I made crossing onto the field for the last time.

Cross Country

"Come on" says Russell as we run past into the gully. There is flax every where. Green bushes sprout where ever you look. Determination settles into my face. My eyes are watering. I have a sore chest.

Cross country writing by Logan

Enthusiasm rushes thought my body as I see my mum tearing thought the crowd to cheer me on. A grin streches across my face as I see her hand, strech out to clasp mine. The only thing that is powering my sticks of jelly for legs is sheer determination. They are enraged with my goal. Sweat breaks the surface of my skin and sizzles across my boiling body. I listen to my beating heart, but all I can hear is the cheering of the crowd and my deep breathing. My pounding feet are killing me softly with pain and tiredness.

Harrys horrific cross countrie

Feet tensing, I feel my feet failing to carry on. I can hear my limbs crying to god. As I race around the  corner I can hear an enchantment of "Go Harry" My feet absorb the cheers as they crack the code of a rhythm it starts to feel like I have Sonic boots on. My feet know they are clawing down the track.

The Race by Conor

The Race

The sound of the wood smashing together turned everyones legs on to run 200 mph. Everyone was running like a cheetah, apart from me and the sloths at the back. Everyone was 1000 kilometres away from the me and the start. The wings of the fast people carried them to the footpath when we were lagging behind on the courts. "C'mon Conor, you can do this!" I ran and ran, catching up to the guys up ahead. I could see the sweat waterfalls on the other guys faces. I ran round the corner, past the office, and down the hill to see Mr. Fitness' happy face. All the other racers were cheering me on. I ran down the other hill to see the man behind the glasses, Russel. I was nearly finished my first lap when I got up to the muddy, slippery steps of glory, to see two teachers who were ready to mark my hand for the second lap.

Waves

You watch the waves go by at full speed.
You think about what bought you here.
You think about why you deserve to be here.
You watch the waves float by at half speed.
You know that you are deserving.
You watch the waves roll past.
You do deserve to be here.

The Salty Sea

The Salty sea laps at my feet.  It's waves crash down on the shore followed by more.  The sea is wonderous and holds many things.  Like fish and anemones. The sea is the sea and that's all it will be.

The wondrous world of an instrument

As my nerves tense , fingers crawling across the object. They feel a round pancake shaped living soul of a musician. The fingers then got caught in a snowball fight on the edge of the world. Then my fingers turned into a team of ants chopping at a log of wood. It feels like my fingers are on a skateboard then they fall off and slide down the special cement. The zero shaped thing is shaken I notice a key whacking the shape like it is a nail. The hammer was trying to make a new instrument. Then a sound comes ringing to my ears it reminds me of my heart racing when the circus was attempting a death defying trick.

The Rattler

The object makes an annoying rattling sound. Strangely it says rhythm tech studios in big white letters. It's black with white tape. It feels smooth, cold and cracked. It's hard and scratched. It sounds like popcorn.

An Instrument With A Personality Of Its Own

Blood red and sea blue.
Scratched edges reveal a pure glistening white.
Reflecting the light.
A humped circle smooth to the touch.
Sharp but clean, repeating or bouncy- A crab opening and shuting his nippers.
A tail of flaming red string.
Soft and fluffy at the end.
Rough throughout.

God's instrument by Jaime 2

It's creamy white skin was stretched tightly across the smooth wooden ring. The wand tapped and scraped until it sounded like the rain going pitter patter, pitter patter on a tin roof. It made the weather stop, it made the weather start, it made a thunderstorm go sweeping through an audiences heart. That object fell down in a whiteout, straight from the heavens. The THING was god's instrument.

Ringing Bell

Cold shakes up my spine as I touch it.

Big lumps poking out.

A funny sound that makes me tingle and jump.

It is blue and silver.

A little circle inside a bigger circle.

You can see a reflection of yourself in the silver part.

I gripped the smooth carved handle.  I slid my hand up and down the instrument.  Part of the object was bumpy, it reminded me of the bumpiness of a road, at the end of journey.  The sound of it made me think of the jungle, all the tribe people banging and blowing in their instruments.  Bumpy, wooden, strange.

Sleigh bells by Conor

Smooth texture, small wood. Covered with dark blue paint to cover its body. Little, cold, metal balls, with even smaller baby ones inside. Shaking to make the sound of a reindeer in the sky, but when is still, it's as quiet as a mouse. When you start to shake it, it goes on forever.

Keyhole Bells

The band that is holding everything together is flexible but hard. The surface is bumpy like tiny pebbles on the ground. It's the shape of a keyhole. A wooden cylinder shaped pole is the handle. It's rough and dented. Water stains cover the smooth glassy bells. Inside the bells little balls tumble and turn. The bells ring out strongly, like the ones on Santa's sleigh.

Soccer Ball

White, round, black.
A white sphere with a black tint.
You can dye them red or blue or green or purple, or a mix of them all.
The soccer ball is the source of soccer, it can not be played without it.
After a rough game, the soccer ball has lived its life.
Brown tattered, old.

Swim safe

Today was swim safe. Luckily I had bought my togs because we had just come back from two weeks holiday. I was very excited because I love the water, I'm basically a water baby. We had to be back at the class at 1:15 from lunch. During the time I had I ran to the toilets and got changed. I slipped on my turquoise one piece togs and put my awesome black board shorts over them. I then put my uniform on over it so I would keep warm and no one would see it. I put my other things in my swimming bag and hung it up with my school bag. I hung around class just in case so I could get inside quick. When it was time I put on my shoes and sat down with my bag. "Buddies on the bus Izzy?" I whispered. She nodded and when we walked to the bus we sat down together. We got to swim safe. I fast walked to the changing rooms and threw off my togs. We lined up first and then walked to the cold-ish pools. Blake hopped into the pool with me following close behind. The instructed made us do a few laps of different things and then we had to get out. The worst thing was I had grown used to the pool so when we hopped out it was FREEZING!. We had to do this every week but Friday was a special day. We got to buy something from the vending machines or the kiosk and my group, as well as others, got to jump off the diving board. When I got home on Friday I gobbled my crunchier bar and cookie time YUM!

Swimsafe

Day one:
Sliding into the pool. 'Warming' up. Swimming lap after lap. Clambering out. Jumping nervously into the diving pool with my noodle.

Day two:
Hopping in. Splashing around. Tasks to swim. Into the diving pool again.(Without my noodle). Having fun.

Day three:
Jumping into the pool. Tiring laps. Leaping into the diving pool. Jumping in again and again. One word to describe it? Awesome!

Day four:
Sitting on the cold, hard seat. Glancing nervously at the diving board that was looming dangerously over the deep diving pool. Climbing reluctantly up the stairs. Every step taking me closer to the terrifying aqua-coloured board. Arriving at the top. Walking gingerly to the edge. Don't look down, don't look down. Too late. Closed my eyes then jumped off. Freefalling. Shouldn't I be in the water now?SPLASH!! Sinking down, down into the water. Gasping for air. Thrashing wildly. Big grin plastered on my face.

Day five:
Leaping off the side into the diving pool. Popping up just in time to see Blake climbing up the stairs, drawing nearer to the board. Clambering out to turn around and see Blake leaping off the board.
I holler over to my friends but they don't seem to hear me. Then they come over. I wave to them then jump in.  As I resurfaced, Blake nearly landed on top of me. To end it all, the whole class did a mexican wave into the pool.

Swimsafe photos

What a great week we had at Swimsafe.  The children grew in confidence so much over the week and it was really nice to see many of the children going up to their instructors to thank them for the week's lessons.

Room 3 debating stars!

This Saturday these children were being filmed debating issues around own grown fruit and vegetables, versus store bought.

They were AMAZING!
